Today, the hotel is managed by Matthias Ziefle. This is also the boss in the kitchen and spoils his guests with German-Swabian delicacies. His brother Andreas Ziefle runs the associated farm – which also supplies the hotel with food directly from the farm. In addition to the Ziefle brothers, you will meet many members of the Ziefle family. All together they help to make your stay at Hotel Schwanen an unforgettable experience.
History
In the year 1734, the first liquor license was granted to the “Schwanen”.
Officially, Johann Adam Hauser, a coal- and potash distiller and farmer, opened the inn on April 26, 1737, at a time when the people of Kälberbronn were forbidden to expand beyond ten households.
In 1806, the second innkeeper Johann Martin Brösamlen (a shoemaker and farmer) had the old building torn down and a new inn built.
In 1829 Johann Jakob Krauß took over the Schwanen. Johann Schleh took over the inn in 1850 and his daughter Katharina married Matthäus Ziefle from Obermusbach in 1878. Since then, the Ziefle family has been running the Schwanen in the fifth generation.
